Intro to The Heroic Journey

Objectives: demonstrate knowledge of Whirligig through on-demand writing. Gain an understanding of the elements of Joseph Cambell's monomyth and the universal pattern of the hero's story.

1. Create Shared Google Folder

• Go to apple store and download google drive and google docs
• set up shared google folder (share with leavittm@rsu5.org)
• Title of folder: last name, first name
• Create a folder in the shared folder called “Quarter 1”. Create a new document in Quarter 1 folder called "Whirligig Prompt"

2. Email me- how was your weekend?

3. Whirligig writing prompt- 30 min

4. Review the steps for the Heroic Journey. With a partner, track Brent's journey and report out.


5. Reading groups for The Odyssey- Discuss books 1-5
