TKAM Setting and Characters

  1. Discuss chapter 1 in small groups:
    1. What do you learn about the setting of the novel?
    2. What do you learn about the main characters?
    3. What is the legend of Boo Radley?
    4. How do the children view courage?
  2. Go over vocab: create pic collages!
HW: read chapters 2-3 and study for vocab quiz
For the vocab pictures, make sure you have your word, the definition, a picture that illustrates meaning, and a sentence that shows the meaning of the word. We will be presenting these next class before taking the vocab quiz.

TKAM Assignment #1: Due 1/26

Homework (due after midterms):
Complete Vocab D and read Chapter 1 in To Kill a Mockingbird.  We will be reading the book as a PDF, so please download the link and open in notability. I would like you to annotate the first chapter of the book. Your annotations should include highlighting descriptions of characters and settings, and making sticky notes of questions you have as you are reading.  

To get the text, google the following: To Kill a Mockingbird PDF. Use the first cite that comes up and open in Notability.
