  1. Have you ever wanted to know what people said and thought about you when you weren’t around? If you could disguise yourself in some way and be around the people you know, how would you carry it out? Describe your ideal disguise and a scenario that you imagine would take place if you could be “a fly on the wall.”
Remember our ways of responding to others' work- responding vs. reacting. Consider the following questions when posting your comments:
  • What question does this prompt in me?
  • How can I connect with what the writer is saying?
  • What suggestions or feedback can I provide?

  1. Book 18 responses

    1. Telemachus is becoming of age, we can tell because he is becoming more responsible and he is beginning to take control of the situations in his household.

    2. Penelope is tricking the suitors into giving her gifts

  2. Odyysseus's self control shows personal growth by teaching him not to overreact and freak out because when he does it usually harms him. An example of this is when Antinous threw a stool at him. Instead of lashing out he thought first, and realized it was not worth exposing himself, something that he might not have done in the beginning of the book. Odyysseus's dog, Argos, recognized him by sense of smell. Emma Carter, Grace Cushman, Sydney San, Colby Wagner, Stacia Easler.
